Time to say goodbye…..

I am here to help you create a bespoke and appropriate farewell for the deceased.
I will spend time with you listening to personalise the service to include your stories, reflections and anecdotes.
I can tailor your ceremony to reflect the character of the recently parted. It can be somber or you may wish to include, photos, music and humour to remember your loved one. I will create a ceremony which shows how much they meant and what legacy they leave to those who remain.
I can also include traditional elements, such as poems, hymns or prayers and respect any special wishes that had been requested by those who have passed.
Bringing these together creatively and sensitively to create a ceremony that is as memorable as your loved one.

Internment of ashes
An internment of ashes can happen anywhere, a favourite place, a burial plot, a memorial garden or on private land. It is part of the healing process and can take place at any time following the cremation of the deceased.
Some people find it comforting to have somewhere to visit, it may be a cemetery. It can be elsewhere, you often see benches on beautiful viewpoints which have a name inscribed as their favourite place.
As part of the internment ceremony, I will work with you to create a special service which respects your loved ones wishes and celebrates their life and your memories of them.
We can include family traditions, music, poems or readings to personalise that final farewell with sensitivity and care.

How long is a typical funeral service?
The length of the ceremony will depend on your chosen venue. The service element can take 10-20 minutes. Allowing for time either side to gather beforehand and depart. Services at crematoriums have fixed timings.
Other locations or a ceremony at a graveside can be more flexible.
We can discuss this further when we meet, especially if you think that there will be a large gathering.
Can I include songs or music?
Yes, of course, it can help with the grieving process to find some suitable photographs to be shown. Music is also quite powerful, as it can conjure up a memory of the deceased.
Three to four pieces of music are usual, especially for a crematorium. One for as people are gathering and finding their seats. Allow one for the entry of the coffin, a piece of music can be played or hymns sung for a reflection (a moment to remember the departed). At this time sometimes a slideshow of approx 30-40 photos can be shown.
There would also be a piece of music played as people leave the venue.
This can be discussed when we meet and tailored to your requirements or include any last wishes from the departed.
I’ve chosen something to read, but not sure if I can…
This is quite an emotional occasion, I will have a copy of the full running order of the service, if you don’t feel able to read rest assured I can do this for you.
Can I add something on the day?
On occasions we have requests for some last minute editions to the service from friends or family members who may not have been part of the planning process. The service has been agreed generally with the next of kin or an executor.
It may be more appropriate for this addition to occur at the wake so not to upset the timing of the ceremony.
For everything else….
Meeting you an explaining the elements of the service is what I do. You can ask me any questions when we meet or if you have a query do call me on 07500 963390.
